After breaking Dom off the prison bus, Brian and Mia flee with him to Rio de Janeiro. A car heist on a train goes wrong: the cars belong to crime boss Hernan Reyes, and one of them hides a chip that maps out his money. The crew is blamed for the deaths of DEA agents, and agent Luke Hobbs arrives in Rio to hunt them down. Mia reveals she's pregnant, and Dom decides on one last job: steal Reyes's 100 million. He pulls together a team of old friends. When Reyes's men ambush Hobbs's convoy, he and local cop Elena join the crew. The Chargers drag the vault through the streets. In the end, Hobbs gives them a 24-hour head start, and everyone goes their own way with a share.

Behind the scenesRio, shot in Puerto Rico
Part of the Rio scenes were shot in Puerto Rico thanks to $11 million in tax incentives. The crew repainted more than 30 buildings to stand in for Rio's favelas.
The production built six versions of the vault. One reinforced version, about four tons, was actually dragged through the streets of San Juan by the Chargers.
