Slippin' Jimmy

Jimmy looks after Chuck, who has stepped away from the firm HHM and lives without electricity, convinced he's allergic to it. A botched scam with two skateboarders puts Jimmy in front of Tuco Salamanca in the desert, and he talks the dealer into breaking the boys' legs instead of killing them. That's where he meets Nacho Varga.

Jimmy finds out the Sandpiper retirement homes are robbing their residents and brings the case to Chuck and HHM. Then he learns Chuck himself kept HHM from hiring him, because he thinks Jimmy will never be a real lawyer. Hurt, Jimmy decides he's done playing it straight.

Off screen

In comics and books

Saul was written for four episodes of Breaking Bad, but Bob Odenkirk went over so well that he became a regular. The name is a pun on "it's all good, man," so clients would remember it. The spinoff, Better Call Saul, ran for six seasons.
