Years later, PADRE turns out to be an island that takes children from their parents to raise them. Morgan and Madison have been fighting it, and Mo, now a little girl, is taken there. They break into the island and run into old friends. Grace dies from radiation. Morgan decides to leave with Mo for Virginia to look for Rick. In the second half, Madison discovers that Troy Otto is alive and a threat. She kills him. PADRE falls, but the children and survivors get away. Madison seems to die holding back a herd, but survives and reunites with Alicia. The group scatters to found new communities under a new name: MADRE.
