After the bombs, Texas lives under radioactive rain. Strand controls a tower with a shelter and decides who gets in. Morgan and Grace look after a baby girl, Mo. Alicia lives in a bunker and falls ill after a bite. The two sides go to war, and Strand becomes a worse and worse tyrant, killing Will and Wes. John Dorie Sr. sacrifices himself, and Charlie dies from radiation. Everyone hears about PADRE, a secret place said to hold the future. The tower burns, and Alicia sets off alone to help others. In Louisiana, Morgan learns that Madison Clark is alive and working for PADRE. She takes Mo for PADRE, and Morgan heads there by boat.
