On Ahch-To, Luke rejects the lightsaber and refuses to return. Rey learns he once considered killing Ben Solo, who then destroyed Luke's temple and became Kylo Ren. Rey and Kylo start communicating through the Force. Meanwhile, the First Order pursues the Resistance fleet; Leia is injured, Vice Admiral Holdo takes command, and Poe stages a mutiny. Finn and Rose Tico go to Canto Bight for a codebreaker but are betrayed by DJ. Rey goes to Snoke, Kylo kills him and becomes Supreme Leader, but she refuses to join him. Kylo says her parents were nobodies. Holdo sacrifices herself. On Crait, Luke projects himself across the galaxy to face Kylo and save the rebels, then dies at peace. Rey rescues the survivors in the Falcon.
