Quick recap

In 2265, Captain James T. Kirk commands the USS Enterprise on a five-year mission to explore strange new worlds. With him are the logical half-Vulcan Spock and the hot-tempered Dr. Leonard McCoy, plus Scotty, Uhura, Sulu and, from season two, Chekov. Each episode is a standalone story: false gods, tyrant computers, time travel, the Mirror Universe and run-ins with Klingons and Romulans. Kirk fights the Gorn in an arena, meets the tribbles and reunites with his former captain, Pike, in "The Menagerie". There's no planned ending: the show was canceled after three seasons and 79 episodes, with the five-year mission still underway.
