Quick recap

The animated series continues the Enterprise's five-year mission, with nearly all of the original cast voicing their own characters. Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty, Uhura and Sulu gain two crew members only animation allowed: three-armed Lieutenant Arex and the feline M'Ress. Across 22 short episodes, the ship visits planets that TV of the day couldn't afford to film. Spock revisits his Vulcan childhood in "Yesteryear", the tribbles and Harry Mudd return, and Kirk even meets the devil of an ancient legend. Like the Original Series, each episode stands alone and there's no real finale. The mission goes on, and the next time we see this crew it's a new era for Starfleet.
