Quick recap

Ash, Misty and Brock arrive in Alto Mare, a city of canals, for a water Pokémon race. Latias, disguised as a girl, saves Pikachu and leads Ash to a secret garden where she and her brother Latios live under the care of Lorenzo and his granddaughter Bianca. That's where the Soul Dew is kept, holding their father's spirit. Thieves Annie and Oakley capture Latios, steal the Soul Dew and switch on the city's ancient Defense Mechanism, which runs out of control. Latias and Ash rescue Latios, but the water drains away and a tsunami threatens Alto Mare. Latios uses all his strength to hold back the wave and sacrifices himself, leaving behind a new Soul Dew.
