Quick recap

Just before Earth is destroyed, Cornelius, Zira and Dr. Milo repair Taylor's ship and escape. They travel back in time and splash down off California in 1973. At the Los Angeles Zoo, the apes reveal they can talk and become celebrities, backed by scientists Stephanie Branton and Lewis Dixon. Milo is killed by a gorilla. The president's science adviser, Dr. Hasslein, learns Zira is pregnant and fears the baby will lead to ape rule. The couple hide at Armando's circus, where their son, Milo, is born. Hasslein tracks them down and shoots Zira and the baby. Cornelius kills him and is shot by a sniper. The twist: Zira had swapped her son with a circus chimp's baby.
