Quick recap

A fight involving rookie heroes in Stamford ends in an explosion that kills over 600 people, many of them children. The U.S. government passes the Superhuman Registration Act, forcing anyone with powers to register and work for the state. Tony Stark leads the side for it; Steve Rogers, against it, goes underground. Spider-Man unmasks on national TV. The two sides go to war, a hero dies, and secret prisons and recruited villains show the price of the law. In the final battle in New York, seeing the damage done to civilians, Captain America stops fighting and surrenders.

Trivia

  1. ChangeAccords instead of a law

In the comic, the fight is over a U.S. law forcing heroes to reveal their identities. The film swapped it for UN oversight, the Sokovia Accords.
