5 easter eggs
Hidden details
ReferenceWhy "Underoos"?
When Tony calls Spider-Man into the airport fight, he yells "Underoos." It's an American brand of kids' underwear with superhero prints, popular since the late '70s. Tony is basically making fun of the kid's suit.
When Ant-Man goes giant, Peter asks if anyone has seen "that really old movie" and ties up his legs with webbing. It's the same move Luke Skywalker pulls on the AT-ATs on Hoth.
The stair car from Arrested Development shows up in the background of the airport battle. The Russo brothers directed episodes of the show and found a way to sneak the vehicle into the scene.
At Peggy's funeral, Sharon repeats her aunt's advice: plant yourself like a tree and tell the world "no, you move." In the comics, the line belongs to Captain America himself, in Amazing Spider-Man #537, during the original Civil War. In the movie, it backs up Steve's decision not to sign the accords.
Near the end, a FedEx driver brings Steve's package with the phone and the letter to the Avengers compound. The driver is Stan Lee, who reads the recipient's name as "Tony Stank."
