Quick recap

Carol Danvers, a former Air Force pilot, takes Captain America's advice and adopts the name Captain Marvel, inherited from the Kree hero who gave her powers. She gets a new suit and starts carrying the weight of that legacy. When an old plane belonging to pilot Helen Cobb, her childhood idol, comes her way, out-of-time Kree technology throws Carol into trips through the past. She fights in World War II alongside a squadron of women pilots and runs into moments that shaped the woman she is. The arc ends with Carol back in the present, settled into her new name.
