Battle at Big Rock

A year after dinosaurs escaped to the mainland, a family from Oakland goes camping at the fictional Big Rock National Park in Northern California. Dad Dennis, mom Mariana, kids Kadasha and Mateo and a baby are having dinner in their RV. At night, a Nasutoceratops shows up with its calf near the campsite. An Allosaurus attacks the calf, sparking a vicious fight with the parent. A second adult Nasutoceratops joins in and the predator backs off. Then the Allosaurus hears the baby crying and goes after the RV. Kadasha shoots it in the head with a crossbow, and it runs off. Over the credits, phone videos show dinosaurs all over the world, from a wedding to a fishing boat.

• Mid-credits During the credits, amateur videos show dinosaurs around the world: Compsognathus chasing a kid, a Stegosaurus causing a car crash, fishermen meeting a Parasaurolophus, the Mosasaurus swallowing a great white shark and a Pteranodon swooping at a dove released at a wedding.

   The short is set in Northern California but was shot in five days at Powerscourt in Ireland, all handheld. Colin Trevorrow directed.

2. Behind the scenesA real Allosaurus on set

   On top of ILM's digital dinosaurs, Legacy Effects built an animatronic Allosaurus. The score was recorded by 80 musicians at Abbey Road.
