Quick recap

After the fall of Arrakeen, Gurney Halleck, the Atreides warmaster, hides among spice smugglers and swears revenge on the Harkonnens and on Rabban, the Beast. With carefully gathered new allies, he plans a heist: hijacking a shipment of off-world water meant for the Harkonnens. The mission goes wrong, and the group returns to Arrakis empty-handed, apparently defeated. Only then does Gurney's secret plan kick in. The story ends with Gurney still among the smugglers, not giving up his private war.
