Quick recap

Krypton is dying. Jor-El encodes his race's genetic codex into his newborn son, Kal-El, and sends him to Earth just before General Zod's coup, which ends with Zod in the Phantom Zone. The baby grows up in Kansas as Clark Kent, raised by Jonathan and Martha. Jonathan, who urges him to hide his powers, dies in a tornado. Clark finds a Kryptonian ship in the Arctic, learns where he came from and puts on the suit. Lois Lane figures out who he is and keeps the secret. Zod, freed when Krypton explodes, arrives and tries to turn Earth into a new Krypton. Superman wins, but Metropolis is left in ruins and he kills Zod to save a family. In the end, Clark takes a job at the Daily Planet.
