Star Trek: Discovery

In 2256, first officer Michael Burnham, a human raised by Vulcans, tries to strike a Klingon ship first and mutinies against Captain Georgiou. The Battle of the Binary Stars starts a war, Georgiou dies, and Burnham is convicted. She ends up on the USS Discovery under Captain Lorca, who is testing a spore drive that jumps across space with Paul Stamets' help. Burnham falls for Ash Tyler, who hides a Klingon secret. A jump goes wrong and sends the ship to the Mirror Universe, where Lorca turns out to be a Terran. Back home, the war is nearly lost. Burnham brings Emperor Georgiou along, stops Starfleet from destroying Qo'noS and helps broker peace. At the very end, the Enterprise shows up.

1. CameoHarry Mudd with a new face

   Con man Harry Mudd, played here by Rainn Wilson, was born in the Original Series, where Roger C. Carmel played him. Discovery shows an earlier stage of the character.

   In the last scene, Discovery gets a distress call from another Starfleet ship, and the USS Enterprise appears on screen. Alexander Courage's Original Series theme plays over the credits.
