Quick recap

The Johto journey continues as Ash, Misty and Brock head for the region's central cities. Ash loses to Gym Leader Whitney and her Miltank, comes back for a rematch and wins the badge. Then he beats Ecruteak's Ghost-type Gym Leader. Chikorita evolves into Bayleef and, rattled by its new size, fights with Ash and runs off for a while before coming back. Team Rocket keeps up the usual schemes, Gary pops up now and then, and the group runs into tournaments, festivals and plenty of Johto Pokémon. The season wraps up in Cianwood, with Ash facing the Fighting-type Gym Leader.
