Quick recap

In San Francisco, scientist Will Rodman tests the drug ALZ-112 on chimps, hoping to cure Alzheimer's. A treated female is killed, and Will takes home her baby, Caesar, who inherited his mother's intelligence. Caesar grows up with Will and his father, Charles, until he attacks a neighbor to protect the old man. He ends up in a primate shelter, where he's abused by keeper Dodge Landon and becomes leader of the apes, with Maurice, Buck and Koba. Meanwhile, the company makes ALZ-113, a stronger gas that kills assistant Franklin and infects neighbor Hunsiker. Caesar steals the gas, makes the apes smarter and says "No!" They break out across the Golden Gate Bridge and hide in the forest. Will accepts that Caesar stays. Left open: the virus starts to spread.
