Quick recap

Every year, six Los Angeles teens get dragged to their parents' charity get-together. This time, Alex, Nico, Karolina, Gert, Chase and little Molly sneak a look and see their parents, a group called the Pride, sacrifice a girl in a ritual. Shocked, they run away. Digging into their families, they learn their parents are supervillains: wizards, aliens, mutants, scientists and time travelers who run crime in the city. Each kid finds a power or an inheritance, from a magic staff to fire gloves and a dinosaur linked to Gert. The volume ends with the six embracing life as runaways, set on bringing down the Pride.
