The Avengers recover Loki's scepter from a Hydra base in Sokovia, where they run into twins Pietro and Wanda Maximoff, who have powers and a grudge against Tony Stark. Tony and Banner use the scepter's gem to create Ultron, a defense AI. Ultron decides peace means wiping out humanity, destroys J.A.R.V.I.S. and recruits the twins. Wanda messes with the heroes' minds and the Hulk tears through a city in South Africa. The team hides out at Clint Barton's farm. The heroes steal the body Ultron was building and Vision is born, able to lift Thor's hammer. The twins switch sides. Ultron lifts a Sokovian city into the sky to smash it into Earth. Pietro dies protecting Clint and Ultron is destroyed. A new Avengers lineup starts training.

5 easter eggs
Hidden details
CameoExcelsior at the party
At the Avengers Tower party, Stan Lee is the veteran who accepts Thor's Asgardian liquor. He gets carried out shouting "Excelsior," his catchphrase from the comics.
In the vision caused by the Scarlet Witch, Natasha sees the Red Room again and a strict instructor. It's Julie Delpy as Madame B, who trained Black Widow as an assassin.
Arms dealer Ulysses Klaue, played by Andy Serkis, has his arm cut off by Ultron on the ship off the African coast. Klaue comes back later in the franchise.
Thor's visit to the cave with Selvig was much longer, with Thor possessed by a Norn. Test audiences didn't like it, and it became the short bit where he sees the Infinity Stones.
No spoilersThe easter eggs give away parts of the title. They open once you mark it as seen.
