Quick recap

Scott Lang gets out of prison wanting to go straight and see his daughter Cassie, but with no job he takes one more burglary. The house belongs to Hank Pym, inventor of the shrinking tech, who set it all up. Darren Cross, Pym's former protégé, has taken over the company and is close to copying the formula in the Yellowjacket suit, which he plans to sell to Hydra. Pym and his daughter Hope van Dyne train Scott to be the new Ant-Man. Pym reveals his wife Janet, the original Wasp, vanished into the Quantum Realm in 1987. With his buddies, Scott breaks in. Cross threatens Cassie; Scott shrinks into the Quantum Realm, wrecks the villain's suit and makes it back. Pym starts to believe Janet could be alive.

5 easter eggs

Hidden details

  1. CameoThe cab driver was the first Ant-Man

The cab driver who shows up briefly is Garrett Morris. In 1979 he played Ant-Man in a Saturday Night Live sketch, and Peyton Reed cast him on purpose.

  2. Behind the scenesHank Pym in 1989

In the opening, Michael Douglas was digitally de-aged for the 1989 scene at the Triskelion, alongside Peggy Carter and Howard Stark. A body double who looked like Douglas in his 40s helped with the effect.

  3. CameoStan Lee at Luis's bar

In one of Luis's fast-talking stories, the bartender lip-syncing to his narration is Stan Lee.

  4. SetupA guy who climbs walls

At the end of the movie, Luis explains in his rambling way that someone is looking for Scott and that there's already a guy who jumps, a guy who swings and a guy who climbs walls. Keep that description in mind for later in the franchise.

  5. ReferenceTales to Astonish

When Darren Cross dismisses the old stories about Ant-Man, he mentions Tales to Astonish. That's the title of the comic where the hero debuted.
