Quick recap
Centuries after Morgoth's defeat, the Elf Galadriel is still hunting Sauron. She turns down the voyage to Valinor, jumps into the sea and comes across Halbrand, a man from the Southlands who survived a shipwreck. They reach Númenor, and Queen Regent Míriel ends up leading an army to Middle-earth. In the south, the Elf Arondir and the healer Bronwyn protect their people from Adar's orcs. A dam is opened, the mountain erupts and the region becomes Mordor. Elrond reunites with his Dwarf friend Durin, who is hiding a secret: mithril in Khazad-dûm. Among the Harfoots, young Nori helps a Stranger who fell from the sky and heads east with him. In the end, Halbrand is revealed as Sauron, and Celebrimbor forges three rings for the Elves.

ReferenceHarfoots, the hobbits' ancestors
The Harfoots come straight from Tolkien: the prologue of The Lord of the Rings names them as one of the three hobbit lineages. The show gave them Irish accents to set them apart.
Charlie Vickers auditioned for Halbrand with a monologue from John Milton's Paradise Lost, the poem about Lucifer's fall. Quite the clue, in hindsight.
