Quick recap

Four years later, dinosaurs live all over the world. Owen and Claire hide Maisie in a cabin. Blue shows up with Beta, a baby she had on her own. Mercenaries kidnap Maisie and Beta for Biosyn. Ellie Sattler investigates giant locusts eating crops, except Biosyn's, and brings in Alan Grant. Ian Malcolm gets them into Biosyn Valley in the Dolomites. Wu reveals Maisie's mother, Charlotte, created her and altered her genes. CEO Lewis Dodgson burns the locusts and starts a wildfire. A Giganotosaurus takes on the T. rex and a Therizinosaurus while the group escapes. Dodgson is killed by Dilophosaurus. Wu wipes out the locusts, Beta goes home to Blue, and the valley becomes a sanctuary.

  2. Behind the scenesThe first feathered dinosaurs

Pyroraptor and Therizinosaurus are the saga's first feathered dinosaurs. Dimetrodon, which isn't even a dinosaur, makes its film debut after years in toy lines.

  3. Behind the scenesDilophosaurus with no CGI

Just like in 1993, the Dilophosaurus are purely practical puppets. No digital model was ever built for them.

  4. Behind the scenesThe prologue that got cut

The film used to open with a Cretaceous fight in which a Giganotosaurus kills a T. rex. The five-minute scene was cut from theaters to shorten the runtime and released separately.
