Snow threatens Katniss: on the Victory Tour, she and Peeta must convince Panem their romance is real. It doesn't work, the districts boil over, and Gale is whipped in District 12. With new Head Gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee at his side, Snow announces the Quarter Quell: tributes will be drawn from past victors. Katniss and Peeta return to the arena, a clock with a new danger every hour. They team up with Finnick, Mags, Johanna, Beetee and Wiress; Mags and Wiress die. Katniss fires an arrow carrying Beetee's wire into the force field and brings the arena down. She wakes on a hovercraft with Plutarch and Haymitch: there was a rebel plan to save her. Peeta and Johanna are now held by the Capitol. Gale tells her District 12 has been destroyed.
