Joffrey is poisoned at his own wedding feast with Margaery, and Tyrion is blamed. Sansa escapes with Littlefinger to the Vale. In a trial by combat, Oberyn Martell fights for Tyrion against the Mountain, nearly wins and dies. Jaime frees his brother, who kills Shae and his own father, Tywin, then flees with Varys. Tommen becomes king. At the Wall, the Watch holds off the wildling attack, Ygritte dies and Stannis arrives with his army. Daenerys takes Meereen and rules there, but chains her dragons after Drogon kills a child. Bran finds the Three-Eyed Raven. Arya travels with the Hound, who is left behind after fighting Brienne, and she sails for Braavos. Littlefinger pushes Lysa Arryn through the Moon Door.
