Jaime and Brienne cross the riverlands, and Jaime loses his sword hand. In King's Landing, Tywin is Hand and marries Tyrion to Sansa. Daenerys buys the Unsullied in Astapor, frees the slaves and takes Yunkai. Jon infiltrates Mance Rayder's wildlings, falls for Ygritte and ends up fleeing back to the Wall. Sam kills a White Walker with dragonglass. Robb loses allies and needs the Freys back, so his uncle Edmure marries one of Walder Frey's daughters. At the feast comes the Red Wedding: Walder Frey and Roose Bolton, backed by Tywin, slaughter Robb, Talisa, Catelyn and the northmen. Arya arrives too late with the Hound. It ends with Daenerys hailed by the freed people of Yunkai.
