So many wishes have built up negative energy in the Dragon Balls, and from them come seven Shadow Dragons, each tied to a ball and to a past wish. Goku and Pan hunt them down one by one, facing villains who spread poison, fire, ice and lightning. The strongest, Syn Shenron, swallows the other balls and becomes Omega Shenron. Neither Vegeta, who reaches Super Saiyan 4, nor the Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta fusion, which runs out too soon, can finish the fight. Goku asks the whole universe for energy for a Spirit Bomb, and the dragon is destroyed. Shenron reappears, purified, and leaves taking the balls and Goku with him, who says goodbye to his friends.
