A TV special set a hundred years after GT. Goku Jr., Goku's great-great-grandson, is a shy boy bullied by his classmates who lives with his grandmother, Pan, now elderly. When Pan falls ill, he decides to search for the Dragon Balls to cure her and travels alone to Mount Paozu, facing animals, a cheating truck driver and a collapsing bridge. Faced with danger, he turns Super Saiyan without realizing it. He finds only the four-star ball, and a mysterious old man explains it isn't enough, but Pan recovers anyway. Years later, at the World Martial Arts Tournament, Goku Jr. faces Vegeta Jr., and Pan spots Goku in the crowd before he vanishes.
