Recovered from Corto Maltese, Chris Smith, Peacemaker, joins a black-ops team led by Clemson Murn, with Emilia Harcourt, John Economos and newcomer Leota Adebayo. It's Project Butterfly: hunting butterfly-like aliens living inside important humans. Chris brings his fan Vigilante along and deals with his racist father, Auggie. Leota hides that she's Amanda Waller's daughter and that she planted evidence against Chris. Murn turns out to be a dissident Butterfly and is killed by the parasites. Chris ends up killing his own father. The team learns the Butterflies depend on a creature called the Cow and destroys it at a ranch. The Justice League shows up late. Leota tells the press everything, and a Butterfly Chris spared starts visiting him at his trailer.

Behind the scenesThe deadpan opening dance
The opening with the cast dancing to "Do Ya Wanna Taste It" by Norwegian band Wig Wam was designed to be absurd and played straight. Alan Tudyk rehearsed in John Cena's place.
Ezra Miller's Flash cameo in the finale was filmed on the set of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which James Gunn was directing at the time, with Marvel's blessing.
No spoilersThe easter eggs give away parts of the title. They open once you mark it as seen.
