Quick recap

After Tommy's death, Oliver swears off killing, and the Hood becomes the Arrow. Roy Harper joins the team, and Sara Lance, Laurel's sister resurfaces as the Canary, trained by the League of Assassins. Barry Allen, a crime scene investigator from Central City, uncovers Oliver's secret. The villain is Slade Wilson, Oliver's friend from the island, who blames him for Shado's death and uses the Mirakuru serum to build an army. Slade kills Moira in front of Oliver and Thea. The team cures the soldiers, and Oliver locks Slade in an A.R.G.U.S. cell on Lian Yu. Sara returns to the League, and Thea leaves town with Malcolm Merlyn, who is alive and turns out to be her father.

Hidden details

  1. Behind the scenesThe Flash pilot that wasn't

"The Scientist" and "Three Ghosts," which introduce Barry Allen, were meant to be a backdoor pilot for The Flash. The response was so strong that The CW ordered a standalone pilot with a bigger budget instead.

  2. ReferenceThe mask was Barry's gift

In "Three Ghosts," Barry gives Oliver the domino mask that replaces his greasepaint. Costume designer Maya Mani tried about 50 versions before landing on it.
