Five years after Return of the Jedi, a Mandalorian bounty hunter takes a job, through Greef Karga, from a mysterious Imperial-linked Client. With help from moisture farmer Kuiil and the droid IG-11, he finds the target: the Child, a Force-sensitive infant of Yoda's species. In episode 2, Jawas strip his ship, the Razor Crest, and the Child uses the Force to save him from a mudhorn. In episodes 7 and 8, after delivering and then rescuing the Child, he returns to Nevarro with Cara Dune, Kuiil and a reprogrammed IG-11. Moff Gideon traps them, Kuiil is killed and IG-11 sacrifices himself. We learn his name: Din Djarin. The Armorer tasks him with returning the Child to the Jedi. Gideon survives, wielding the Darksaber.
