Hidden details
CameoC-3PO without the golden armor
In the escape from the Kessel mines, the human prisoner who calls the Wookiee Sagwa over with a 'this way!' is Anthony Daniels, C-3PO himself. Screenwriter Jonathan Kasdan confirmed it.
In the droid fighting arena where Han goes looking for Lando, the guy who mistreats the droids and gets attacked by L3-37 is Ralakili, played by Clint Howard. He's the brother of Ron Howard, who took over as director midway through production.
In Dryden Vos's office on the yacht, look at the table of objects behind Han when the two meet: the golden idol from the opening of Raiders of the Lost Ark is there.
Some of the explosions in the train heist were done the old-fashioned way: a model mountain blown up with fireworks inside a fish tank at Pinewood Studios.
