Spoilers for this title

Quick recap

A year after Laqua, the Rising Volt Tacklers are scattered, and the Explorers, now run by Spinel, blame them for the disaster. Liko and Roy try to bring the crew back together, gain a rival in Ult, and investigate a pink mist that harms Pokémon and the Strong Spheres, which use Laquium to force-power Pokémon. One arc flashes back to show how Roy and Ult learned Mega Evolution in Kalos. Then the group trains at Blueberry Academy in Unova and raids the Explorers' headquarters with unexpected help from Amethio. Friede returns before the final battle, Terapagos neutralizes the mist, Spinel is defeated, and the crew's name is cleared.
