Quick recap

After his father's death, young Leto becomes Duke of House Atreides, and Duncan Idaho begins to earn his trust. At court, Prince Shaddam moves against his own father, Emperor Elrood, and takes the throne. On Arrakis, Pardot Kynes stays among the Fremen, trying to make the desert livable. Baron Harkonnen, the Atreides' old rival, sets a trap to frame Leto for an attack. The Duke is put on trial before the Landsraad and is acquitted, because Shaddam wants to hide his own secrets. So ends the first prelude series.
