Quick recap
In 2016, veteran Hal Jordan and rookie John Stewart, picked by the Guardians, investigate a murder in Rushville, Nebraska, where aliens are hunting a hidden Manhunter. The Manhunter is Zoe Macon; the town comes under attack, John kills Zoe, takes Hal's ring and turns down being a Green Lantern. In 2026, John comes back and finds Hal dead, his ring gone. The truth: Sheriff Kerry Kane killed Hal, afraid he'd uncover the truth about her adopted son, Noah, another Manhunter. John chooses compassion, lets Noah live and takes up the ring. The copy of Hal stored in the ring says goodbye, and John flies for the first time. Sinestro stays imprisoned, his fate unclear.

In episode 6, Nathan Fillion is back as Guy Gardner, now trying to cash in on the Green Lantern brand: a signal in the sky, his face on ads and even plans to open a bar.
A Janus Cosmetics poster, the company of the villain Black Mask in the comics, shows up in the series. And Sheriff Kerry Kane, it turns out, is from Gotham.
In episode 7, the air base nods to Ferris Aircraft in Coast City, where Hal and his father work in the comics. And his dad asks if they "beat Central," a nod to the Flash's city.
The muted green suit draws on Green Lantern: Earth One by Gabriel Hardman and Corinna Bechko. Hal's look is modeled on Sam Shepard's Chuck Yeager in The Right Stuff (1983).
