T'Challa dies of an illness Shuri couldn't cure, and Queen Ramonda takes charge of Wakanda. Then comes Namor, king of Talokan, an underwater kingdom that also has vibranium. He demands Wakanda hand over the scientist who built a vibranium detector, college student Riri Williams, or Talokan will attack. Shuri and Okoye protect Riri, Namor takes them both to Talokan. Nakia breaks them out, and in retaliation Namor attacks Wakanda; Ramonda drowns saving Riri. Shuri recreates the heart-shaped herb, becomes the new Black Panther and, on the ancestral plane, meets Killmonger instead of her mother. She beats Namor in a battle at sea but spares him, and they agree to a truce. Riri goes home. Left open: Nakia lives in Haiti with T'Challa's son, also named T'Challa.

Behind the scenesA silent Marvel intro
The opening swaps the usual fanfare for a silent montage of Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa. It's the tribute to the actor in the very first minute.
While building her suit, Riri wears the same white sleeveless T-shirt Tony wore in 2008's Iron Man. And her first flight almost goes wrong, like the Mark II test.
